Brain Injury, Mental Health & Community Impact
Sponsorship
The Scale of the Issue
Brain injury is one of the most significant — and under-recognised — public health challenges in the UK.
Over 1 million people attend A&E each year with a head injury (NICE).
Around 200,000 people are admitted to hospital annually.
Approximately 40,000 cases show evidence of traumatic brain injury (TBI).
More than 330,000 hospital admissions each year relate to acquired brain injury (ABI).
Globally, the Global Burden of Disease study estimates over 27 million new TBIs annually, with more than 55 million people living with long-term effects.
Despite these numbers, brain injury remains poorly understood and frequently misdiagnosed.
This is an opportunity to support a growing public health priority with
measurable social impact.
Brain injury is often invisible — but its consequences are not.
Behind the statistics are individuals struggling with depression, addiction, behavioural change and suicidal thoughts — often without understanding why.
With your support, we can:
Raise awareness.
Reduce stigma.
Provide community.
Fund access to life-changing therapies.
And save lives.
Our Mission
At Marshalling Brain Injuries Alliance, we are working to:
Raise Awareness of TBI & CTE
- Educate communities and employers about the long-term effects of head injury.
- Increase understanding of the link between brain injury, mental health and suicide risk.
- Reduce stigma around behavioural and cognitive changes following injury.
Provide Peer Support
Many individuals with TBI feel isolated and misunderstood.
We provide:
- Lived-experience peer networks
- Safe spaces for open discussion
- Education for families
- Signposting to appropriate services
Peer support reduces isolation, improves mental wellbeing and encourages earlier intervention.
Fund Access to Treatments Not Available Through the NHS
While the NHS provides essential acute care, many symptom-management therapies are not routinely funded, including:
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
- Neurofeedback
- Photobiomodulation
- Advanced rehabilitation modalities
For many individuals, cost is the only barrier to accessing treatments that may improve quality of life.
We aim to:
- Provide financial assistance for evidence-informed therapies
- Partner with providers to secure discounted treatment access
- Support symptom management to reduce mental health crisis risk
Why Sponsorship Is Critical
Without intervention, individuals with untreated brain injury are more likely to experience:
- Chronic depression and anxiety
- Substance misuse
- Relationship breakdown
- Unemployment
- Crisis service dependency
- Increased suicide risk
By supporting our work, sponsors help:
- Prevent mental health deterioration
- Reduce suicide risk
- Improve quality of life
- Strengthen families
- Support safer workplaces and communities
- Sponsorship Impact
Corporate sponsorship enables:
- Public awareness campaigns
- Educational workshops and employer training
- Peer support programme delivery
- Treatment grants for individuals in need
- Research-informed advocacy work
Your organisation will be aligned with:
- Mental health awareness
- Suicide prevention
- Workplace safety
- Domestic Violence Survivors
- Veteran and frontline worker support
- Sport safety reform
What’s the return on investment for us?
Partnering with Marshalling Brain Injuries Alliance delivers a powerful and authentic return on investment.
First, it provides strong brand alignment — visibly positioning your organisation as a champion of mental health, suicide prevention and workplace safety, while gaining meaningful advertising exposure through campaigns, events and awareness initiatives.
Second, it supports workforce wellbeing, particularly within industries disproportionately affected by brain injury risk, including construction, emergency services, sport and the military — communities that often overlap with corporate workforces.
Third, it strengthens your ESG and social responsibility profile by demonstrating commitment to preventative health, not just reactive crisis response.
Most importantly, your support helps us raise awareness, expand peer support, fund access to treatment, make a tangible difference to families affected by brain injury — and ultimately, save lives.
