Our Team

Rich & Jen

Rich and Jen met through their mutual love of Rugby Union in 2009, married in 2011 they never imagined the sport that bought them together would one day change their lives forever when Rich was diagnosed with probable CTE and early on-set dementia at the age of 41.

They had known for several years that something wasn't right with Rich, he was battling depression that conventional treatment wasn't helping with, his mental health struggles even drove him to attempting suicide. His short term memory started to decline, beginning with forgetting silly things like his phone, what he walked into a room for, forgetting he had put a pizza in the oven,  forgetting whole conversations and then progressing to forgetting important life events such as his daughter’s wedding. He has now been "medically retired" and is registered disabled, with his wife being his full-time career.

When they received the bombshell diagnosis in some ways it was a relief, they finally had answers for all the symptoms but then they were left with several questions, "what do we do now?"  "How can we treat it?"  "What support is out there for us?"  " How will this disease progress and is there anything we can do to slow it down?"  These are all frequent questions that everyone who is impacted by this disease face.

In their pursuit of knowledge and support Rich and Jen have found many families facing the same questions and daily battles of navigating life with CTE, so they    decided to use this disease to do something positive and proactive.....and the idea for a Charity was born.....
