Community Supporter
Help Us Change the Future of Brain Injury Support
Marshalling Brain Injuries Alliance supports individuals and families affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI), Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), and other neurodegenerative conditions linked to repetitive head impacts.
Brain injury can affect memory, mood, behaviour, relationships and mental health. Many people living with these conditions feel isolated, misunderstood or dismissed.
We exist to:
- Raise awareness of concussion and repetitive head impacts
- Provide free emotional and peer support
- Equip individuals with practical tools
- Build connection and community
We are now looking for compassionate, reliable Volunteer Peer Support Group Moderators to help facilitate our growing support community.
Volunteer Community Supporter
At Marshalling Brain Injuries Alliance, our community is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for compassionate and supportive individuals to join us as Community Supporters, helping us create safe, welcoming, and understanding spaces within our Facebook and WhatsApp support groups.
This is a flexible and informal volunteer role, ideal for people who are passionate about supporting others affected by brain injuries, neurological conditions, trauma, or suspected CTE.
Community Supporters help by:
- Welcoming new members into the community
- Offering encouragement and peer support
- Helping maintain a respectful and supportive environment
- Signposting concerns to our team when needed
You do not need professional qualifications or to have all the answers. The most important qualities are empathy, kindness, and a willingness to support others. Full guidance and support are provided, and volunteers are never expected to manage difficult situations alone.
Many of our volunteers have lived experience themselves, either personally or through supporting a loved one, but this is not essential.
Even a small amount of time can make a meaningful difference to someone who may be feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or unheard.
If you would like to be part of a growing community focused on support, understanding, and advocacy, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we can ensure nobody impacted by brain injury has to navigate it alone
