Why We Need Volunteers
MBIA is powered by people who care.
Many individuals and families affected by brain injury feel isolated, misunderstood, and unsupported.
Volunteers help us:
- Support families
- Moderate communities
- Raise awareness
- Deliver events
- Create resources
- Reach more people who need help
Without volunteers, much of this work simply wouldn't be possible.

Many people tell us:
"I'd love to help, but I don't have the right experience."
The truth is that there is no such thing as a "typical" MBIA volunteer.
Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and every one of them brings something valuable to our community.
Whether you have professional expertise, lived experience, practical skills or simply a desire to help others, there is a place for you at Marshalling Brain Injuries Alliance.

There's a Role for Everyone
No matter your background, your time and skills
can make a real difference.

Your Experience Matters
Many of our volunteers have first-hand experience of brain injury.
Some live with:
- Brain injury
- Concussion
- Probable CTE
- Neurological conditions
Others are:
- Partners
- Parents
- Children
- Friends
- Carers
They understand the journey because they have lived it.
Their compassion, empathy and understanding help others realise they are not alone.
But lived experience isn't essential.
Many of our volunteers simply wanted to make a difference.
If you share our values of compassion, respect and hope, we'd love to hear from you.
